Our
program helps our clients to earn a pay check
while we work with them on individualized goals such as maintaining attention to
task, following supervisor instructions and proper work conduct. This
program is located in Plainview and Tulia. We offer a variety of jobs for
individuals within enclaves, work crews, and sheltered workshops. We also
assist customers in finding jobs in the community through our Supported
Employment Program.
MR Non-Residential Services MR
Non-Residential Services
offer a variety of programs to help an individual with a diagnosis of Mental
Retardation attain goals specific to that person. Our primary goal is to help that person become integrated into his/her
community as independently as possible. All individuals must have a diagnosis of mental retardation and must be
referred for services by Central Plains Center Service Coordination or by
contract with private agencies.
MR Community SupportsMR
Community Supports offers training in the individual’s home.
We concentrate on those skills that will help the persons living
situation. Trainings offered in
this program include: money management, grocery shopping, grooming skills, and
laundry/housekeeping. Habilitation/Adult Basic EducationThe
Habilitation program offers training for the more challenged individuals.
We provide assistance in personal care and training ranging from
self-help skills to computer training. We
work with individuals to increase their social skills as we work in a group
setting. We offer group exercise
and arts & crafts. Our
Adult Basic Education program works on trainings that will aid a person in
becoming independent. Academic
skills are taught in a group setting but also each individual will have his or
her own individualized training time to work on skills they wish to develop.
. MR Supported Employment
Our
Supported Employment Program works with our customer to obtain a job in his/her
community based on strengths and desires of that customer.
This process starts from an assessment from which a strategy is
developed. We work on many aspects
of employment from filling out an application to appropriate hygiene skills.
Specific job skills are taught as they apply to the job.
Once
a customer obtains a job in a community setting, we then work with his/her
employer to transition our customer into the work environment.
We offer training, support and guidance to our customer and the
customer’s employer. As this
process progresses we begin to gradually decrease our support.
Our goal is for our customer to work in the job with as minimal
assistance as possible so that the customer will be an independent member of the
community.
