The
services included at Central Plains MHMR are: Adult Mental HealthAdults,
18 years or older, who are having problems and are interested in receiving a
screening for mental illness can call our admissions office.
Individuals will be screened by qualified staff and will receive an
assessment by a licensed professional. As
a center, we are limited in the population we can serve and the licensed staff
will provide an evaluation to determine eligibility for our services.
After qualifying for our services, individuals will receive referrals to
other services available in our center and the community as necessary. Mental RetardationIndividuals
and families who are in need of mental retardation services can call our
admissions office. Persons
requesting services will be tested by qualified staff to determine if mental
retardation is present. Testing is
completed by a Licensed Associate Psychologist certified by the Texas Department
of MHMR to conduct testing. Once
testing is completed , individuals will receive referrals for other center and
community services as indicated by testing.
Not all individuals who are tested meet criteria for Mental Retardation
services. Hospital/State
School Liaison
Liaison
services are for individuals who are hospitalized or placed in a state school.
The liaison will coordinate center services while a person is
hospitalized as well as provide discharge planning to ensure continuity of
treatment upon discharge. Crisis Intervention
Services
The Crisis Line is a service that is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Crisis services include crisis resolution, crisis intervention, assessment and authorization of inpatient psychiatric treatment when necessary. The Crisis Line also provides referrals and information for substance abuse treatment. 24 - Hour Crisis Hotline: 1- 800-687-1300

Support
IHFS
is a grant program that provides financial assistance to adults or children with
a mental disability or to their families for the purpose of purchasing items
that are above and beyond the scope of usual needs that are necessitated by the
person’s mental disability and that directly support that person to live in
his/her natural home environment, rather than living in a more restrictive
setting at a higher cost.
Jail Diversion
Assessment
services, helping to identify mental health needs, for individuals who are
incarcerated or who are in the process of incarceration. This service can be
accessed through both the admissions and crisis line team. Referrals maybe made
internally or to external agencies to meet these needs. Truancy
Counseling
services provided to adolescents who are experiencing truancy problems. This
service is open to individuals who have been referred by Hale Co. Juvenile
Probation Office or court mandated. This service consists of counseling. Sessions
provided by LPC/LCSW.
